Logic Pro Sessions
Taking groups of a maximum of 8, we work to teach people the basics of Logic Pro in our professional recording studio at the X-centre. These workshops can be a one off 2 hour session or can continue for a number of weeks giving participants more of an idea of what can be done with Logic Pro.
Music Drop In
These sessions have proved extremely successful for those with mental health issues and irregular life styles. We provide a set of instruments and safe space for people to come and go as they choose. This low pressure approach draws people in who would otherwise be too nervous to participate.
The Band Workshop
Running weekly, ad hoc or as just a one off, we take a group of musicians or non-musicians and create a band. Often writing their own music, the group tackle such issues as compromise, team work and criticism. Instruments can be provided but we often find the participants prefer to use their own if they have them. This works best in groups of 2-8.
Guitar Groups
An excellent and affordable way for beginners to pick up a guitar and see if they like it. When run on a weekly basis, participants can make significant progress!
Song Writing and Recording
This has previously afforded a level 1 qualification but we are looking to branch into other areas of performance and studio techniques at level 1 & 2. This is a chance for a group (maximum 8) to gain an official qualification, create a demo, learn the basics of working in a professional studio and how to express themselves through music.
African Drumming
One of the most fun musical activities which can be run in pretty much any way you like. We have a collection of African instruments enabling up to 12 people to be playing at any one time (although if people are willing to share we can run larger groups). We will take you through some basic African songs and show you how play these fantastic instruments.
