Our two workshop leaders have been working together since the summer of 2012. Genki and Alex started running a mental health music drop in centre for the Bridge Collective in Exeter with great success. Since they have been working together the popularity of this project has grown and grown.

With each one bringing their own skill set Genki and Alex have found themselves able to meet the needs of most if not all of the participants of the many and varied workshops listed on this site. As both Genki and Alex are multi-instrumentalists they are able to deliver this wide variety of workshops to the largest possible audience.

Genki (David Lindsay)

GenkiKnown primarily by his nickname (meaning energetic and lively), Genki started playing drums at the age of 10 and has been playing guitar since he was 17. In 2007 he started teaching song writing workshops to youth groups for a company called Notivate.

He completed a music degree at Dartington College of Arts in June 2010 and gained a First Class BA (hons) in Music Performance. During this time he started to run music workshops in prisons, an area of work in which he is still passionately involved.

Genki is a high level drummer and guitarist with excellent abilities in music technology. He runs a commercial studio at the X-Centre but finds his main passion is teaching musical skills to those who have not had the opportunity in the past. This has led him deliver a variety of music qualifications and workshops around the county.

Genki has a Certificate in Teaching in the Life Long Learning Sector and is fully CRB checked. Please click here to see a copy of his CV
